Announcement of VacancySr Administrative AssistantCentral Office, Waco, Texas SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe purpose of this position is to provide administrative and customer service support to the Brazos River Authority.
This is accomplished by acting as the first point of contact for the general public; providing information to customers; coding expenditures to respective accounts; assisting with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable; reconciling and coding credit card statements; assisting with inquiries or concerns; performing administrative duties; and providing office equipment and computer support.
Other duties include preparing, copying and distributing documents, maintaining files, managing department calendars, ordering office supplies, monitoring employee business expenditures, assisting with budgetary functions, coordinating meetings and events for projects, processing permit applications and follow ups, assisting with the expedition of projects and activities, and performing any other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Individual needs to be detail oriented, with excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
Work requires ability to use dictionaries, thesauruses, and encyclopedias; ability to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement; and ability to write reports, prepare business letters, and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar, using all parts of speech.
Financial / accounting background is strongly preferred.
Customer Service experience is required.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes.
Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency.
STARTING SALARY RANGE:
$17.
07 to $21.
76 per hour.
This is a non-exempt position.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
