The time has come to recruit a Financial Controller who will be the most senior finance position in our company.
They have the desire to work in the health & wellness industry and be passionate about establishing the systems, processes, and business rhythm to help lead our business into its next growth phase.
The role will sit on the leadership team of the company.
About the roleJob
Summary:
The Financial Controller will report to the joint CEOs and partner functional leaders with direct ownership of all financial operations including budgeting, planning, debt raising, establishing financial controls, compliance, and risk management as well as all other financial requirements.
It will be a role that you can grow in as the business grows.
The expectation is that you will be hands on and build a team as the business expands.
Ideally the role is based in Granbury Texas and be on site 3 days a week.

Oversees employees responsible for financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
Implements internal control policies and procedures for all financial activities.

Responsibilities:
Financial Control:
Prepare and lead the timely financial reporting for monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
Lead the period end close process for the business.
Lead the annual planning process.
Oversees the preparation of periodic financial statements, activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
Ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Coordinates the company's financial planning, budgeting, debt raising and investment activities.
Confirms accuracy and oversees filing of quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Support the commercial expansion into countries outside of the USA and support the legal entity design, financial management and tax and legal requirements.
Working Capital:
Collaborate with the leadership team and owners to propose and agree a roadmap to deliver positive cash management practices.
Jointly responsible to ensure accurate valuation of production, raw material and packaging through an agreed stock take schedule.
Implement an approach to receivables and payables that supports our cash objectives while remaining ethical and true to our company values.
Ensure outstanding AR are acted upon and maintain a Best in Class overdue payments ratio.
Financial forecasting:
Partner with the commercial and supply team to cash up the sales & manufacturing forecast to deliver a 12 month outward looking financial forecast.
Governance:
Coordinate and control master data for permissions, finished goods, materials, suppliers, customers, and warehousing.
Partner with IT on fit for purpose systems to support governance and when appropriate provide an ERP recommendation and lead the implementation.
Validate and authorize bank payments to suppliers and other business units.
Lead internal controls and business continuity management.
Risk & Audit:
Lead the internal and be the key contact for the external audit process.
Business Partnering:
Represent finance in the commercial team and support sales & marketing activities including pricing management, promotional evaluation and the innovation process.
Partner with the owners & the leadership team on periodic strategy review and key tactical decision making.
Business Intelligence:
Actively analyze our business practices, markets and competition to provide the leadership team timely business intelligence that supports active management, strategic & tactical review.
Strategic sourcing & procurement oversight:
Establish and provide oversight in our business purchasing practices to ensure the ethical and best price practices to deliver on our financial objectives.
Leadership:
You will be a senior leader in our business and the expectation is you will help to set the standard, support other leaders and team members.
You will be a member of our company leadership team.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent and highly accurate math and accounting skills.
Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Education and
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required; Master's degree preferred.
Ten years or more of related experience required.
CPA designation highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Ability to travel as needed.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
